Why Women Cheat

Last week I listed and explained why men cheat. So this week, I am going to do just the opposite.
Why do women cheat?? I personally think that girls cheat because they are missing some kind of emotional piece. But trust me, I am not making an excuse at all for girls. Cheating is wrong. Whether he does it, or she does it. And just so you know, most of the research that I found was mainly toward married women. I was hoping to find information on unmarried couples so most of you could relate, but this is what I got!

Four Reason why Women Cheat:
  • Low Self-Esteem
For the women who are married, they become nothing more than a mother, housekeeper and wife who keeps the family running smoothly. Maybe she is feeling frumpy and unattractive. Her self-esteem is in the gutter. She no longer feels sexy, beautiful or desirable. She is married to a man who takes her and the marriage for granted. Picture this....
A man who compliments her, shows interest in her emotionally, tells her she is beautiful. A man who looks at her and sees something other than a mother, housekeeper and wife. A woman who is having issues with low self-esteem is a sitting duck for a man like this.
  • The Emotionally Starved Wife
There was a research done on a couple who had no children, and they both worked extremely hard to have the big house and the nice cars. The lifestyle they thought would make them happy. Only problem is, they are working so hard to accumulate things that they are neglecting their relationship with each other. There is no romance in their marriage and any emotional attachments are to the “things” they’ve acquired over the years. The wife even admitted that she started to feel "lonely through the years." What happens when a woman feels lonely and no emotional attachment to her husband? She goes looking for emotional attachment elsewhere.
  • The Angry Wife
There is no better way than to get back at a husband who has cheated than to cheat yourself.
A woman who has been devoted to her husband for years and putting her marriage and family first, found out that her husband was cheating on her with a young lover and planned on revenge from that day. She went to Victoria’s Secret, charged hundreds of dollars in lingerie and then found someone other than her husband to show it all off to. Her husband got the bill!
  • The Wife who seeks Excitement
You have heard of men who are serial cheaters.. they cheat for the thrill of it. There are women who are thrill seekers also. Most “thrill seekers” miss the feeling that comes with feeling their spouse can’t keep his hands off her. She wants to be wanted, to feel sexy, as if she turns her husband on every time she walks in the room. When she loses that feeling, she goes looking for it outside the marriage.
  • The Sexually Deprived Wife
If she isn’t getting sex at home, don’t be surprised if she goes looking for it outside the marriage. As men age their testosterone levels drop. When this happens they become less interested in sex or develop sexual dysfunction.  and are unable to perform. A wife ends up with a husband who would rather watch football or read a good book at bedtime than have sex with his wife.

I actually really enjoyed doing this research on the women much more than on the men. I found myself more interested in why women cheat, and their feelings behind it. I even laughed out loud when I read the story about the woman catching her husband cheating, and she bought hundreds of dollars in lingerie for someone else to see it, and sent him the bill. LMAO moment!!!!!!!

  1. After reading last week's post about why men cheat I had to find out why women cheat. I think it's interesting but also understandable to why women cheat. My favorite was about the woman buying lingerie for another guy and sent her husband the bill. Nothing like sticking it to the man.

  2. I loved the part about her sending her husband the bill, that was hilarious. I always wondered why women cheat, but thanks to you I kind of have an idea. Crazy how us women work.
